Early on in the series, Norman's wife, Ina, is involved in a hit-and-run. Although Norman remains unaware, the driver to be blamed for the accident is his niece, Mallory. Mallory runs over Ina while in a fit of uncontrollable rage at having discovered that her husband, Roy, is having an extramarital affair. Having hit the pedestrian, Mallory decides to leave the individual on the road, speeding away. The same individual is then run over by Roy, who then stuffs the body in the trunk of his car, believing her to be dead. Ina later manages to escape, and the authorities find her.
Ina, having been run over by two vehicles, ends up comatose in the hospital, with a livid Norman vowing to murder anyone who crosses him in his quest to find out who caused Ina's accident. Despite her serious injuries, Ina makes gradual progress and looks on the way to recovery. However, Horace, Norman's brother, who is involved in a bitter feud with him, pays a woman to pose as a nurse and kill Ina. As a result of Horace's actions, Ina ends up clinically brain-dead.

Norman, already suspicious of his brother, and paranoid of his influence over the hospital, decides to transfer Ina to a location over which his brother has no influence. However, Ina tragically dies in transit, propelling a rage-consumed Norman to begin a bloodbath, shooting and killing the EMTs and nurses in the ambulance. He also vows to seek revenge against his brother, Horace, whom he believes is behind the death of his wife.
What Happens to Charles?
The second-to-last episode of Beauty in Black shows Charles' car getting shot at by assailants hiding on the road to the sprawling family home. The masked gunmen riddle Charles' distinctive yellow car with bullets to such an extent that the vehicle goes up in flames, seeming to effectively kill anyone inside it. The attack is suspected to be masterminded by Norman as revenge for the death of his wife.

Tyler Perry Needs to Slow Down
Here's why Tyler Perry needs to reduce his movie and TV show output following Divorce in the Black.
While the scene appears to establish that Charles is dead, the death of Horace's youngest son is never confirmed. While it is unlikely that anyone inside the car survived, Charles is depicted as being on a fender bender in the club prior to his car ride back home. Given his state of intoxication and several clues dropped throughout the episode, a chance exists that a stripper from the club stole Charles' keys and was on the way to rob the house when they were shot at. If this is the case, Charles was never in the car and, as such, should be alive when Part 2 rolls around.

Does Rain Die?
Rain undergoes informal cosmetic surgery to enhance her body so that she is able to earn more and pay off her debts faster. Despite being repeatedly advised by Kimmie to stay away from such surgery, Rain opts to trust Body and go through with the surgery. However, the surgery is botched and Rain is admitted to the hospital with complications. Kimmie is prohibited from visiting her friend in the hospital by her boss, and when she finally does manage to do so, is informed that the individual occupying Rain's bed passed away due to complications from surgery. Kimmie is devastated.

However, Kimmie later gets a call from Rain. Despite dubiously answering the call, she is overtaken by relief to hear Rain's voice on the other side. Rain is still in the hospital. However, she was moved to a different hospital with more security, explaining her absence from the initial hospital that Kimmie visited. The season does not confirm whether Rain fully bounces back from her complications, ending simply with the character being in the hospital, looking to be on a long road to recovery.
Does Kimmie Kill Body?
It is established from the get-go that the relationship between Body and Kimmie is rather hostile. While Kimmie spends most of her time looking for a way in which she can permanently bid adieu to the stripping business, Body appears to despise Kimmie for her lack of interest in the profession and her attempts to rally the girls against the working conditions and wages of the club.

Tyler Perry's Worst Movie Has Driven More Prime Subscriptions Than Any Other Amazon MGM Title
Divorce in the Black might not be a hit with critics, but Amazon has definitely found success with Perry's latest movie.
Scheming to get her revenge, Body ultimately digs into Kimmie's personal life, getting her hands on Kimmie's sister, Sylvie. Body kidnaps the girl, who is unaware that her elder sister works as a stripper, instead believing her to be a nurse. Incensed that Body decided to involve her family in the mix, and refusing to be a sheep any longer, Kimmie explodes and runs down Body with a car, pinning her between two vehicles.
However, similarly to Charles, Body's death is never confirmed. If Body did, in fact, die, this might be a victory for Kimmie. However, if the character is still alive, this only promises more chaos in Part 2 of the series. Regardless of whether Body is dead, one thing that audiences can expect to see in Part 2 is Kimmie hunting down her sister Sylvie, who Body informed her was with Delinda.

"I’m always trying to write these cliff-hangers, where people are going, ‘Wait, did you see this?' I want people talking about it around the water cooler, and on [social media], and trending, and just loving it."
